Pregnancy Help Clinic - Brighton, MI, USA
Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the test you use? Can I take a test before
I miss my period?

- It is over 99% accurate. Of course, every thing depends on the individual woman and the level of pregnancy related hormones her body produces. The sensitivity of the tests used here can detect pregnancy as early as one day after a missed period.

If I took an at home pregnancy test, why should I come in to the Pregnancy Help Clinic?

- A visit and test here will confirm a viable uterine pregnancy. Before you make a decision, you need all the information available. Our free ultrasound exam will make sure the pregnancy is located where it should be (in the uterus not in the tube). In early pregnancy the miscarriage rate is nearly 1 in 4. We have a trained staff that can answer and clarify your questions.

Should I have a retest if my period doesn’t start?

- Yes, we recommend a retest at least 48 hours after the first test - preferably with a morning urine sample or one with restricted fluid intake. Occasionally the test we use will give a faint positive line after the prescribed time limit.
